Your Questions Answered

We have provided answers to the most frequently asked questions but please feel free to contact us if you have other questions not covered here.

How many counselling sessions do I need?
The number of sessions will depend on your individual needs and what you would like to gain from counselling. We provide 6 sessions minimum (short term counselling) and 30 sessions or more (long term counselling). The first session is a consultation, which usually last for 50-60 minutes, where the type of counselling on offer will be explained and information collated to start the therapeutic process either to help you reconcile your issues or to help you to find ways of coping.
How much personal information do I need to provide and how secure will it be?
Very little personal information is required. For purposes of our indemnity insurance, we will need to know your name, telephone number and an address at which you can be contacted. All information is filed securely and is held for 12 months following the end of your counselling.
What if I want to cancel my counselling sessions?
We normally agree the dates of your counselling sessions in advance and will confirm the date and time of the next session at the end of the current one. 24 hour’s notice is required to cancel or reschedule an appointment. This also includes clients who want to change their session’s day and time due to reasons beyond their control (for example, shift workers). You will be charged for a missed session where 24 hours notice is not given.
Is there free parking available?
Yes, there is free parking for several cars directly on our private driveway outside the venue, which is available for both day and evening appointments.
Is there disabled access available?
The counselling rooms are situated on the ground floor and there is access for wheelchair users directly from the car park.
